I chose this tree because this tree was a big part of my childhood. Dad planted the tree as a seedling about 38 years ago. It was a gift from his uncle. He originally planted it in the middle of our yard but after we had additions built onto our house it sat outside my bedroom window. I have grown up watching this tree from my window, watching the cycle of the leaves changing colour.
